We Don't Ask What's Wrong With Young People. We Ask What's Strong Within Them.
YMC's unique approach helps young people discover their gifts, heal from their wounds, and develop the confidence, resilience, and community needed to thrive.

Sawubona.
"I See You."
At YMC, every relationship begins with a simple but powerful idea: Sawubona — a Zulu greeting meaning not simply "I see your face" but:
- ✦ I see your worth.
- ✦ I see your gifts.
- ✦ I see your humanity.
- ✦ I see your potential.
Many young people arrive carrying labels placed on them by others. At YMC, we begin by seeing who they truly are.

Every Wound Has A Story.
Every Story Contains A Gift.
YMC asks a different question: "What is this behavior trying to tell us?" Beneath every challenge is a wound — and within every wound is the potential to uncover a gift. Click each wound to reveal its gift.

No One Transforms Alone.
Traditional mentoring often focuses on one mentor and one mentee. YMC creates something larger — a community of mentors, youth, staff, alumni, families, and partners who together create an environment where belonging becomes possible and transformation becomes sustainable.
Many participants describe YMC as family.
